Without the yoke or setting bridge there is a chance that the setting lever and spring could pop out of the sliding pinion, unless the dial is holding them in place, which isn't ideal...so I wouldn't bump the watch too much :-)

I put it aside until i get the part.   I don't want any problems with it , especially the dial

If the screw down part is still in place, the watch will be ok. The slender arm section is what usually breaks, and if you only removed this, there is no danger of the yoke and yoke spring doing anything they shouldn't. What you don't want to do is remove the larger section of the part, the section that is screwed down.

I put the larger section back in place after I located/removed the little end piece. It has that tab that covers the moving parts still on it.     I still want to get it replace though.
