Well, I'm excited; here's a new model for the database. 1936 Dictator. Square stamped on movement, caseback has Bulova w/ American Standard Shield. 10K RGP case and back. Should have a braided leather band, but I think the bracelet really makes it "pop". If I ever find a correct leather, I'll probably go "stock" again. Lisa's website has one (1935) listed w/ad and Bobbee uploaded a 1937 ad there showing watch, no question in my mind it's a match. Case/crystal sizes say it's not a Lorna and face color says not a Banker. Neat swivel lugs and round case really narrow it down for ID. Agreed?

Thanks Geoff,
I find the name amusing and wonder if the Banker/Dictator tie together is the subtle sarcasm of someone at Bulova making a covert statement about the US Depression era economy. Dictators were rectangular and distinct early on - mid to late 20's, then suddenly Dictators were nearly identical to Bankers, therein lies the perceived sarcasm. The face is different, but they are the same. Most all Bulova model names were a positive handle, this one is a bit negative. Food for thought.
