I don't think it is a franken. I have a couple of 7 Jewel 10AN movements.

I couldn't find any matching advertisement for this though. Guess we will see.

The Maxim used the 7 jewel movement and I have two of them. I have seen this case some where in  the db, I just need to dig through them.

The Square Shield indicates a manufacture Date of 1931, for the Movement.

The first numeral of the Case seriel number (2) indicates a manufacture date of 1932.

* 1932 something as the Watch couldn't exist without the 1932 Case and the Movement was manufactured prior.

In 1928/29 this model was known as the Conqueror. I cannot find anything this late other than the enameled Cyrano version. So failing a model name change I'm good with a tentative Conqueror. The movement jewel count may prove otherwise.

Unless Bulova renamed it in 31-32, I'm good with Conqueror. I just checked mine, both movement and case are dated 1930, 15 Jewels,10AN, Swiss made.

If the 7 Jewel Movement belongs with the Case, which I suspect it does I'm at:

1932 'UNKNOWN'

The 7 jewels is odd. Conqueror should be 15, so possibly a movt swap?

In observance in general there have been some odd things, not odd but non A-typical things that go on with Bulova Watches dated 1930 - '32.

The Great Depression or even the 'firing up' of the Bulova Observatory may have had some impact.

The 15 Jewel 'CONQUEROR' is last seen in (current on site) advertisements in 1929, this Case is Dated 1932.

Also, did the 'CONQUEROR' evolve into 'CYRANO' or were both produced concurrently?

Let me jump into my time machine and go and check :-)

The lack of adverts is an interesting question.
