This watch, I believe, is a Bulova 'Oxford' model dating from 1925 by the date symbol on the movem, ent. It is cased in 0.925 Sterling Silver as per the stamp on the inside of the case back. There is not the usual 7 digit (only a 3 digit number) serial number on the case back and the movement serial number is of only 4 numerals

Are you sure that the movement isn't a 6TA.

That would more correct for that date period.

looks like another Oxford in database, movement will be 6TA

I can only assume that the movement model is a mis-struck 6 that takes the form of an 8.

Nice match for the Bulova model 39744 which looks to have become the Oxford. Here is an advert showing the 39744 with the same dial as the Oxford.

Based on the 1925 date stamp and what we have in the database I'm inclined to say 1925 Bulova Oxford. The model went from the 39744 to the Oxford sometime on 1924.

What a nice old Bulova, I agree that it's the Oxford model
