Unknown, I don't see enough detail or similarities in either ad

158ish....is that a model name :-)

Unknown for now.

I'm looking forward to the un-earthing  of these early 1920 adverts. A lot of unknowns will be solved.

Similairity to model 158 noted.  Votes to date:

3  Unknown:  Will, Geoff, Admin.

1 ?? Model 158:  Fifth- Mark, I think you are voting for model 158 and would give two ticks if published as such?

EDIT March 1 2015.  I believe this model in fill will turn out to be 157 if we can find an ad showing this.  For many of these early model numbers, the last digit of model number is even for solids, and odd for fills.

Quothwinter or anyone, can you read what's stamped right under the Am Std Shield and above the 19kRGP hallmarks?

It kinda looks like WARRANTED

It looks like it says "1/12" next to the "19K" to me as well.

Quothwinter, I hope you are reading this. The signature inside the case is quite rare. It would help us a lot if you could make a clear picture or describe what is written. Underneath the shield symbol, we think it says "warrented" and then underneath that "19K 1/12 rolled gold plate".  let us know!

If like to suggest we update this watch to a  Bulova 157 based on the gold content.

I'm good with that update.  No need to run through the red zone to do so, in my opinion.

I'm at two ticks tentative for the 158, but would give three ticks for the 157 ID.
