Why no Caravelles?

Submitted by joebarkson on July 19, 2015 - 12:54pm

Why are there no Caravelles in the collection? I know they were Bulova's low-end line, designed to compete with non-jeweled watches from competitors (like Timex, maybe?), but some of them are very cool. Are they banned here? What would happen if I tried to sneak a Caravelle in through the "Add a watch" process? Just curious.

We stick to the main line, and it is a handful as it is. Bulova also did Lord Springfield and Westfield.

Try Lisa's site you can add  other than bulova's there. I have put a Westfield on her site before

Joe - it would be deleted (sorry - Bulova /  Accutron only)

Joe, thanks for your question. It's one that we have discussed at length a few times before and decided to keep the focus of the site strictly to Bulova and Accutron watches.

It would be nice to have the recources available to us to answre all questions relating to Bulova's entire line of wtahces including their off-shoot branded watches, but alas we are having a hard enough time sourcing information about Bulova watches themselves.

As Geoff indicates, the panel manually reviews all watches added to the site, so any Caravelle would be removed. There are certainly other websites that you may try in order to find the information you seek.

Thanks to all for being so cordial to this newbie. I know you all work very hard to make this site the extraordinary resource that it is, and can certainly understand that the line has to be drawn somewhere.

I am curious, though. How many among us have Caravelles in our collection? I don't have any, but am considering adding some.
