Wanted: Vintage Bulova, Modern size

Submitted by Tayloreuph on April 6, 2015 - 1:03pm

Hi;
I've got a few vintage Bulova watches, and am interested in getting a dress style watch, but I'm a little confused by sizes. I have a beautiful "23", black sunburst dial, silver tone case, and a white gold filled "Douglass", but both wear small for my wrist. My 666 "Day-Date"dive watch, and "Chronograph" are all better sized, but don't fill the dress watch niche. My Precisionist "Wilton" is a little too large for most situations.
What classic Bulova watches are more sized towards modern sizes? I'm not looking for  40-50mm size, but something larger than 30mm.
Thanks.

Check out the '70s models in the database,there were some pretty big ones made during that decade.

A cushion cased Oceanographer 333 would fit the bill.

A 78 Set-O-Matic Day/Date Automatic would be in the size range you are looking for.

Agree, they didn't started getting to a descent size until the 1970s. Also agree with Oceanographer series. Nice clean stylish looks.

The astronaut markI would be my recommendation! Really big compared to the astronaut and the markII. I get a ton of compliments on it. Great look for everyday watch.
