Need help with a wavy crystal Bulova with 8AE mvmt

Submitted by watchmefindit on June 13, 2010 - 6:35pm

I just acquired this Bulova a week ago and can't find anything about it except it may be from between 1940-1946. The dial looks like it is copper, and adorned with red and clear jewels (not tested), The crystal is wavy, it raises in the center and dips at the ends where the lugs are. Stainless back, case marked Rex W.C. Co. Movement is marked 17 jewels, Bulova Watch Co., and 8AE.

Here is a link to a page with photos.  wavy_bulova

Thank you in advance,

Chris

I'm not certain about these particular models. I see alot of them with the ruby/diamond style dials but have yet to come across any advertisment by Bulova showing them. Also it looks like its been re-cased.

The movement is date stamped 1941.
