I need to replace the hour gear on my president and can't find a 10an 21 jewel movement.

I assume you are referring to the hour wheel.

Order by height from Jules Borel and Co.

Around $10 and shipping.

the center-wheel pinion snaped off when i removed hr.wheel, Rusted together.  So I will not be able to measure it.  This 10an has an odd  jewel for that sweeping second hand so I thought I'd get a donor and put the parts in this one.  Can't find a 21 jewel though

A Font 1146 10.5L  and a Font 324 both use that sweep center wheel.

I don't know about the cannon pinion , but you can get those. The hour wheel should be brass and after soaking, should come off and be usable.

Anyone know if there is a difference between the wheel for a 17J and 21J movement. Are they interchangable?

If it is for the sweep second version of the movement, it will be interchangable.

You must still buy a donor movement , as the parts are obsolete, but it expands your search.

The jewel for the second hand/dial (4th wheel) has a brass bushing surrounding the jewel. The 4th wheel  stem is thicker  to accomadate the sweepwheel.  

There's nothing like a Donor for parts, you get what you need and have the leftovers for later on.

I'm learning all these parts names from  The info provided in the info. catalogs here

[/quote] i'm sorry but I had some parts mixed up, i don't believe I did such a thing.  i tried to keep the president parts seperated and I guess the cat mexed them up. lol.

I was able to get one that works ,using the interchang book.  Great addition to my collection that book.   Thanks guys
