The watch below is in a non Bulova case but has a 8AH movement which I note was used between 1940 to 1948. The movement itself was no date mark. I would like to match the watch face and movement to its proper case but can find no similar in the data base.

Has any one any ideas ? thanks      terry

I would guess that the dial came with this aftermarket case.

That is how they were bundled and there are a few like that now on e-bay.

The manufacturers would make replacement cases with matching dials to fit the trade-in movements that were acquired by the jewelers on trade ins.

Case and dial are simular to the Bulova 23 but not quite.

Something to keep in mind on the re-case watches, usually the movement is in fair to great shape and the 10AN is pretty common for the round cases.  As a result a person can pick up a decent replacement or parts movement for a low price.
