Crystal glass for Lone Eagle I

Submitted by yugioh1776 on April 3, 2012 - 11:27am

I just got a lone eagle the first model with a plastic crystal that has long since turn a dark brown green with the radium dial and hands. Anyways dose anybody have a GS or BB crystal for sale ?

I have a BB and a K-K that are close but not identified by brand or model. Does anyone know the correct part #'s for the LE 1? I've searched through the LE 1's here in the db and none have the crystal id'd other than by size, 21x21.

Hi yugioh   This post was moved to the Watch parts and Trade forum.  A shadow copy was left in the original forum to direct folks to the new location, so it may appear like there are two of the same post.

I think the watch parts and trade posts are automatically deleted from the system after a few weeks time, but I'm not positive. I also don't know what happens to the shadow copy in the original forum after this auto-deletion process.

Thanks

21.2 X 21.2 is the correct dimension Darren.

Do you have two of those?  I'm in the same boat as yugioh....or are you holding on to get a watch in which to place it?

Although I need one of these glass crystals too....that's the answer I was hoping to get from you Fifth, as you need an LECC watch! They are just beautiful.  I have five or six of them (one is most likely a Conqueror) and they just sit in my top drawer.  Mabye we can make a trade for something.   I could as easily have four that I do nothing with as five.

Came close, wound up with a Conqueror.

One of these Days I hope to use the Glass, Shawn got My only 'spare' in a trade.

Mark,

I have several in that range but I cannot say whether they are for the LE 1 or not. Do you happen to know either the BB or the K-K #'s?

Thanks

Until I can verify what I have will work consider yugioh1776's request still open. As of right now I just can't find the LE 1 in my catalogs to match up with what I have.

??? Don't know.

What makes it a military crystal?

I'll photo the packet and post shortly.

CMQ425 Bulova 21.1 x 21.2 Crystal

The M in the part # designates a military type which means the bottom of the crystal is contoured to fit the case. The dashed lines of the drawing on the envelope indicate that the crystal is curved in both directions.

Check out the oval shapes in the 1930 GS crystal catalog page 15. Notice O124 and MO124. Both are 26.4x16.1 but the MO124 is curved on the bottom and won't sit flat on a flat bezel. The O124 won't fit a curved bezel.

Has anyone seen a Military Bulova watch that would take this crystal?

Good pickup but doesn't look very military :-)

Not sure, just a guess, but I think, perhaps, the "military" type crystal came about as a result of military spec that called for a convex crystal as opposed to the original flat type because of the added strength, maybe.

Well, yugioh sent me his old crystal and I matched it up to a BB Q2145 that was unidentified.

Good info Darren, the follow up is noted and appreciated!

DarHin, how many of these do you have? Are they the glass version?

Yes, it is glass and unfortunately it was the only one I had.

So far the LE1 takes:

BB Q2145 (physically matched to old one provided by ygioh1776)

W-C 2Y212 (as noted by Mark/Fifth)

G-S Q380 (Q2145 compared to G-S catalog illustration)
