Accutron 218d

Submitted by dave012420 on April 17, 2015 - 6:35pm

So I was wondering if it were possible to remove the dial form an Accutron 218D with day/date, and it still function? I know the 218 and 214 differ greatly in apperance, and I am not looking to make it into a "spaceview". I bought the watch on eBay, and I couldn't see the dial was messed up because I was bidding on my phone, and not my tablet or laptop.

Or.....Does anyone have a gold tone dial for a 218D with day/date they are looking to part with? Any kind of response would be greatly appreciated!!!

I have one in Navy Blue, matte finish. The diameter is 27.95mm. This measurement is important because it has to match your case. I have another, but it is in bad shape. One thing you could also do is get International to refinish your damaged one.

Removing the dial and Spaceview conversion means you have to still hold down the hour wheel, which was the dial's job. They had various conversions for this, not just for Accutron Spaceviews, but any squelette  watch.
