This is a men's high art deco styled 1928 Bulova "curtis" model. The case is 14K white gold (RG) with deep engraving on bezel, lugs and along case sides with black enamel. It's 25 mm without crown and 37 mm from lug to lug.
The face is BULOVA marked with sub-second, no spotting, clean with light toning. The crown has coin edging. Back plate is stainless with no personal engraving. The movement has been trial timed.
Just updated the case serial # and the movement information. I will try to upload better pictures soon. The following information is extracted from the case back:
PAT. JAN. 11 1927
BULOVA
14K
GOLD FILLED
NEW YORK
8326423
There are some other markings as well but I can't really read them such as W.77 77-3 E160
Nice Curtis. Was the date of 1927 chosen from a date symbol on the movement or ad/publication? Case serial number suggests 1928.
The 11AF entry in our movement database gives a production date range from 1959 thru 1967, but this may only indicate which movements we have recorded to date. Rantff's movement database lists production ranging from 1959-1967.
Hope you can post more pictures.
I see three checks for the ID. I'm going with tentative for now. Two checks. Too much uncertainty, but at least the case front and dial are consistent w/ Curtis. Movement questions and a stainless back are issues. The 11AF may be a tight fit in case, as other Curtis on site house 9 series movements without much space left over. Maybe the movement information was provided by the person from whom you got the watch and were inaccurate. Pictures will address most of these.
